I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the states of Illinois and New Jersey. I have worked as a therapist in the state of Illinois for over 8 years. The majority of my work as a therapist has been with individuals with the history of domestic violence; trauma; sexual, emotional and physical abuse; as well as with individuals with the history of pornography use problems and their families. I work with individuals as well as couples. My work with couples focuses on the improvement of communication and intimacy. I utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches, favoring the non-directive client-centered method of therapy.

I had a privilege to be a presenter at the American Psychological Association (APA) convention in August 2016 on the topic of depression, marital communication, congruence with religious values and pornography use. Additionally, I was a presenter at the Midwest Psychological Association (MPA) conference in 2013 as well as at the Association of Mormon Counselors and Psychotherapist (AMCAP) convention in 2013.

Seeking therapy is not easy decision to make. I am a warm, empathetic, and culturally sensitive therapist with experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults. My goal is to provide a safe and non- judgmental space where individuals can feel comfortable exploring the reasons that have led them to seek therapy. Feeling connected and understood is crucial when working collaboratively with a therapist to help identify personal issues and moving towards a better self, marriage, or family life and improving overall functioning.

As a therapist, I have experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I often work with adults, children, adolescents, young adults, couples, and families. I provide clients with skills that they can use to improve in areas of concerns, helping them manage their emotions, relationships and work together to reach their full potential.

My area of work includes clients who are struggling with depression, mood disorders, social anxiety, panic attacks, grief/loss, emotional/behavioral disorders, generalized anxiety, trauma, stress, relationship issues, communication, goal setting, life adjustments and transitions.

I believe that it is important to create a client centered environment, with trust, openness and collaboration in order to explore ways to help grow, overcome issues, setbacks and finding solutions.

In my approach to counseling I’m solution focused, and adhere to a strength based practice. I explore with clients the rational and emotional ramifications existing in their lives, understanding of their family system in order to gain insight into who they are and what they desire, while working together to set appropriate goals and objectives.

I am fluent in English, Spanish and French.
